Word families are a grouping of words which all share a common trait. In this case how they end. As you will find on the included key, which lists a selection of your for your child to work on, this wood puzzle focuses on the ending in "Et" and "ut."

You will notice the empty space before each. Here your child will insert one of the include wood tiles to form a word. Through this they will work on both spelling and reading abilities. I encourage you to have your child read each word aloud as they create them. Doing so helps reinforce what they are learning.

In the second open space your children will insert a number tile. You can have them replace it when each new word is found with a new tile or have them wait until finished. This will improve both their ability to count and memory as they must remember how many words they discovered.
